009: Delivering Bad News In Good Ways with author ALISON SIGMON

Delivering Bad News In Good Ways with author ALISON SIGMON

In today's episode we get to talk with a fellow author friend of mine, Alison Sigmon. She and I have had the chance to work together on a couple fun book-related projects and I am so excited that she's here with us today. I know you'll love her as much as I do.

Alison is no stranger to effort and all that sheer grit required to build a business. She knows what it's like to work with limited financial resources, limited time, and in constantly shifting markets where everyone on the team must be a jack-of-all-trades to problem-solve fast and achieve results even faster.

She has held executive level positions at a relationship support gamification website that she co-launched and promoted at the South by Southwest® (SXSW®) conference in 2011. Most recently she was the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at an outdoor shopping television show.

In addition to her efforts in the startup space, she is a (Project Management Institute PMP) certified project manager who has trained, facilitated, consulted with tens of thousands of people for over 16 years in Fortune 500 companies and government organizations around the world. Everything she's doing these days is focusing on the behavioral and communication side of project management and relationships. You guys, she *good* at it too. Because on top of all that she is a clinical therapist and a Gulf War veteran. So she knows what she's talking about.

Her first book titled *Delivering Bad News in Good Ways* is the first in a series on the subject. We get to talk with her today while she's in the midst of writing a follow-up book specifically geared to help health professionals *Deliver Bad News in Good Ways.*
